Henry Thomas was born on September 9, 1971, and after only five years, he is already certain of his career choice: acting. Although while it still takes him some time—he has to wait until 1979—before his mother finally satisfies him by going with him to an audition in his native San Antonio, Texas, it is merely the start of an experience that would soon lead him to portray E.T.'s childhood pal for Spielberg.
