On Friday, August 25th, 2023, Matthew M. Williams, Creative Director of Givenchy, invited friends of the house, including brand ambassador Nanao, Ryota Katayose, Lala Takahashi, Yamato, Yoshiaki, Michi, Ran Tondabayashi and many more, to join him for an opening party to celebrate the grand opening of its store located at GINZA SIX.
At over 250 square meters, the store is one of the largest in Japan. The new concept features metallic LED screens and shelves with transparent 4G logos, the first to be introduced in a store in Japan.
In this setting, architecture, sculpture, design, luxury, music, art, culture, and people come together to celebrate Creative Director Matthew M. Williams’ vision for the House. Taking a cue from the Matthew’s vision, a completely new concept is established.
Reinforcing Williams’ experimentations with classism and radical contrast, sculptures conceived in collaboration with the British artist Ewan MacFarlane appear in surprising positions and poses, punctuating the space with a dynamic installation that merges art and fashion, two original new pieces appear here in postures that, like their predecessors, evoke our natural quest for self-expression and meaning through the objects and experiences we choose to make our own.
The store offers a full array of Givenchy ready-to-wear & accessories collections for women and men, as well as exclusive capsule collections. The location will open with the Givenchy Fall Winter 2023 collection and a product assortment featuring Creative Director Matthew M. Williams’ standout sharp tailoring, signature worked denim, and modern eveningwear. Fans of the House’s coveted accessories — including handbags, small leather goods, and iconic footwear such as Shark Lock boots — will discover an expansive selection. Givenchy’s powerful new Voyou statement bag will be highlighted in-store.
