Summer as a feeling more than a place; as an energy that runs through the city or on holiday: this is the spirit conveyed by this season's LOEWE Paula's Ibiza, the collection inspired by Paula's boutique, an iconic and once-cherished style destination on the island
The vitality of being as one with the environment comes to life in the visual portfolio shot on the sand in Comporta, Portugal, by Gray Sorrenti, and interpreted by a cast of talents that includes musician and LOEWE Brand Ambassador GISELLE, and actors Sophie Wilde, Enzo Vogrincic, and Jamie Dornan. Each subject is portrayed on the beach; the different intensities of light suggesting moments of a day en plein air, from dusk to dawn - daily living on the island. Reflecting the collection, the images are direct and energetic, the colours intense and the play of light and shadow graphic. They only feature landscapes and natural elements such as dry branches or fences, which surround the protagonists who are caught simply being themselves, enjoying a moment of connection with nature. The same energy is to be found in the still lives, which feature bags and sunglasses laying on the sand, or in
vegetation, hanging from a fence or a rusty relic.
The collection is an elevated mix-and-match wardrobe that suggests freedom and playfulness through flowing shapes, handcrafted embellishment, compass and feather motifs, patterns inspired by the abundant vegetation of the island graphic prints. Dresses and skirts are draped and gathered, coming in lightweight summer blends; jersey and textural knits are mixed with lace inserts and trims. Soft in feel and relaxed in shape, denim comes for men in plain or patterned sets and for women in unexpected pastel hues. A testament to the OEWE commitment to craft,, woven raffia bags such as the new Ola feature traditiona echniques and a wavy silhouette with a short donut chain. Handwoven raffia turns bol in the Punch Hole basket, made with chunky braids and equipped with belt straps in raw leather, while it gets slouchier, with a looser weave, in the crocheted Punch Hole Hobo with a leather patch pocket. The Featherlight Puzzle is offered in a new mini version, and elsewhere, baskets, pockets, and pouches take inspiration from the garden with embroidered flowers and bees; handcrafted bag charms are imagined as vibrant flowers and bunches of glossy tomatoes, and bugs and blooms adorn jewel-like pins. Shoes come in a rainbow of hues and include the new Rio suede slipper with handcrafted raffia embroidery, and the Anagram slide, which also comes with a kitten heel. The new Petal espadrille reinterprets he traditional Spanish style with an authentic LOEWE touch. A playful energy reverberate: hrough prints in homage to the American rock band Grateful Dead and characterize fruit-and-vegetable-shaped charms and pins. Denim or rainbow-beaded bucket hats complete the mix-and-match look together with chunky and bold Front Lens frames and flower-adorned Daisy Field sunglasses.
