Equal parts indie pop, post punk, and garage rock, Blue Skies is a fun and fresh release, complete with clever lyrics and catchy hooks. Reverb soaked guitars loop over steady drum beats consisting of little but a floor tom, snare and the occasional cymbal, a new addition for this album. Dehd’s dual vocalists Emily Kempf and Jason Balla’s contrasting vocal deliveries contrast and compliment one another throughout this lo-fi, sincere project.
