For a delicious dinner the whole family will love, try our carne adovada sopaipillas recipe! With a few simple ingredients and minimal prep time, these tasty sopaipillas are sure to be an easy hit.
Before you begin, make sure you have all of the necessary ingredients for our carne adovada sopaipillas recipe. In addition to carne adovada and sopaipillas, you’ll also need queso fresco (or your favorite cheese), onion, bell pepper, garlic powder, cumin powder, chili powder, vegetable oil for frying, and any other desired toppings such as sour cream or guacamole.
Begin by browning the carne adovada in a skillet over medium heat. Once it is beginning to brown, add onion and bell pepper. Then, stir in garlic powder, cumin, and chili powder. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
To assemble the sopaipilla shells, begin by preheating your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, cut out 4 circles for each shell using a 4-inch biscuit cutter. Gently press each circle into a greased 8-inch pie dish to form the shape of each shell. Bake in the preheated oven for 18 – 22 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool before adding filling.
To fry your sopaipillas, heat up 2-3 inches of oil in a deep fryer or pot. Once the oil is hot, carefully place each cooked sopaipilla shell into the hot oil and fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Allow the fried shells to cool before adding carne adovada filling. Enjoy!
Serve your freshly made Carne Adovada Sopaipillas on a plate and top them with desired ingredients – carne adovada, queso fresco, guacamole, sour cream etc. And for additional flavor and kick of heat, sprinkle with chopped red onion, cilantro and sliced jalapenos. Serve hot and enjoy!
