With a unique and uncompromising vision, Kel-P has the will to realize his ambitions and go down new creative paths: where he is not expected. This vision is that of a jack-of-all-trades with an overflowing imagination, a curious man, even a bit of a geek, with a passion for art and musical technique. Having contributed to the worldwide success of Afrobeats by producing for Burna Boy, Rema, Adekunle Gold and Janelle Monaé, and having won a Grammy for his collaboration with Angélique Kidjo, Kel-P has made a name for himself as a performer with Bully Season Vol. 1, released in spring 2023. Tracks such as "One More Night" - which features a cover of Nelly and Kelly Rowland's R&B hit "Dilemma" - and "True Love" have taken the producer's career to a new level, turning him into a talented performer.
Born in the city of Calabar, Kel-P lost his mother at the age of two. He and his twin brother moved to Lagos, where they grew up with their family. Endowed with a broad musical palette, Kel-P was first influenced by artists such as Rihanna, Akon and Ne-Yo, before discovering Davido and Wizkid. Growing up in a Christian household, his family took a dim view of his musical ambitions, but young Kel-P persisted. He eventually met Sarz, who encouraged him to start beatmaking and recording. Kel-P quickly refined his vision as a producer. His first notable production was Solidstar's "Eleganza". Forging a solid reputation, he teamed up with Burna Boy and produced ten tracks on the 2019 album “African Giant”, including "On The Low", "Gbona", "Killin Dem" and "Pull Up". His catalog continues to grow, highlighted by Wizkid's hit "Ginger" feat. Burna Boy, "Donne-moi l'accord" for Dadju and Burna Boy, "Diamond Platinum" for Jeje, and many more. He also produced "Faith" from Skip Marley's Higher Place album, earning him a GRAMMY Award nomination for Best Reggae Album.
In 2022, Kel-P received a GRAMMY in the Best World Music Album category for Angélique Kidjo's Mother Nature and a Grammy nomination for Wizkid's “Made in Lagos”: Deluxe Edition.
